A very important culinary investigation at the Bluff Oyster Festival! 🦪

Every May, seafood lovers descend on Bluff, the tiny town at the very bottom of New Zealand’s South Island. For one glorious day, we feast on oysters, fried seafood, live music, and local chaos (in the best way possible).

We ate our way through fresh Bluff oysters, kina (sea urchin), pāua sashimi, muttonbird pie, bacon-wrapped mussels, golden fried fish, and one incredible coconut cream raw fish ceviche that honestly stole the show.

There were oyster eating competitions, Cook Island drumming, questionable dance decisions, and several moments where we had to sit down and reassess our stomach capacity. 😆

If you love food-focused travel and uniquely Kiwi experiences, this festival absolutely deserves a spot on your New Zealand wishlist.
